1. General information only
Foundations is an educational course about investing concepts — how markets work, how to read financial statements, how to think about risk and portfolio construction. Everything in the course is general in nature. It is not tailored to your individual circumstances and must not be relied upon as personal financial advice.
2. We are not licensed financial advisers
Foundations and its operators do not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) and are not authorised to provide financial product advice under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth). We do not recommend, endorse, or advise on any specific security, fund, platform, or financial product. Any companies, funds, or tickers mentioned in lessons are used purely as real-world teaching examples — never as recommendations to buy, hold, or sell.
3. Seek independent advice
Before making any investment decision, you should consider obtaining independent financial, tax, or legal advice from an appropriately licensed professional who can take your personal circumstances into account. If you are unsure whether an investment is right for you, speak to a licensed adviser.
4. Investing involves risk
The value of investments can rise and fall, and you may get back less than you invested — including the total loss of your capital. Past performance, including any historical returns, backtests, or simulations shown in the course, is not a reliable indicator of future performance.
5. Practice portfolio is not real trading
The practice portfolio uses play money and delayed or end-of-day data for educational purposes only. It does not reflect real market execution, slippage, fees, taxes, or liquidity, and results achieved in the practice portfolio have no bearing on what you would achieve investing real money.
6. Data accuracy
Market data, company financials, and other figures shown in the course are sourced from third-party data providers and refreshed periodically (each data point is dated). We take reasonable care in preparing this content but do not warrant its accuracy, completeness, or currency, and accept no liability for errors or omissions.
7. No liability for investment outcomes
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we accept no responsibility or liability for any loss or damage arising from your reliance on course content or your own investment decisions, whether made during or after completing the course.
