1. Who we are
Foundations (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an online course business operating in Australia. These Terms govern your access to and use of the Foundations website and course platform (the “Service”). By purchasing or using the Service you agree to these Terms.
2. What we provide
Foundations is an educational course covering general investing concepts, delivered through interactive lessons, a practice portfolio (play-money) trading environment, quizzes, and downloadable resources. The Service is for general educational and informational purposes only.
We are not a financial services licensee. We do not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL), and nothing in the Service constitutes financial product advice, a recommendation, or an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any financial product. See our Disclaimer for full detail.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts used to breach these Terms, share paid content, or abuse the practice portfolio or live quiz features.
4. Purchases, pricing and GST
Course access is sold as a one-time payment. Prices are shown in Australian dollars (with approximate US dollar / British pound equivalents for convenience) and may change at any time; the price you pay is the price displayed at checkout.
Payments are processed by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, who acts as the seller of record for tax purposes. GST (for Australian customers), VAT (UK/EU), and applicable US sales tax are calculated and remitted by Lemon Squeezy as part of the checkout process. A tax invoice/receipt is issued by Lemon Squeezy on completion of purchase.
5. Refunds
All purchases are final. We don't offer change-of-mind refunds — please use the free lessons to try the course before you buy.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer law, including the Australian Consumer Law. Where the Australian Consumer Law applies, our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded, and you remain entitled to a remedy for a major failure. If you believe there's been an issue with your purchase, contact us at the email below and we'll work through it with you.
6. Acceptable use
You may use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial learning. You must not resell, redistribute, publicly share, or systematically scrape course content, videos, templates, or practice portfolio data; attempt to circumvent access controls; or use the Service to build a competing product.
7. Practice portfolio
The practice portfolio uses play (“pretend”) money and delayed or end-of-day market data. It does not involve real funds, real brokerage execution, or real financial risk, and practice portfolio results are not indicative of what you would achieve investing real money.
8. Intellectual property
All course content, branding, and software are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and other laws. Your purchase grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to access the content — it does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property to you.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties other than those which cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and our liability for any breach of a non-excludable guarantee is limited, at our option, to re-supplying the Service or refunding the amount paid. We are not liable for any investment losses, decisions, or outcomes arising from your use of the Service.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
